Below are some destinations you may or may not have heard of. This is an example of off the beaten path options you can experience in your travel itinerary.

Vianden, Luxembourg

Vianden is a charming town in Luxembourg’s Ardennes Region. It has an amazing small town feel. It has many unique shops and markets. It has history filled hotels and restaurants that cover all appetites. Discover the historic Vianden Castle, the Gothic Trinitarian Church, the Victor Hugo Literary Museum, scenic trails, and panoramic views from the chairlift.

Fun Fact: about 15 kilometers outside of Vianden is a small monument with an American flag – right in the center of the road. Traffic must drive around it. It celebrates the U.S. Army’s liberation of that area of Luxembourg in 1945.

Lake Königssee, Bavaria, Germany

Lake Königssee. Absolutely beautiful. Just outside of Berchtesgaden. With its emerald green color and nestled at the foot of the imposing eastern wall of Mount Watzmann in the heart of the Berchtesgaden National Park is one of nature’s true masterpieces. The greatest luxury in these fast-paced times is silence. As soon as you board one of the attractive electric passenger boats all the noise, hustle and bustle is left behind. During the crossing to St. Bartholomew the boatman plays his trumpet to lure out the world-famous Königssee echo from the steep rock face. In St. Bartholomew the lovely pilgrimage church is world-renowned for its wine-red onion domes.

Its an amazing experience. The area has a beautiful hotel, great restaurants, and some really good shopping. It is very much off the beaten path for visitors from the US.

Evesham, England

Evesham is a peaceful Medieval market town located on the River Avon. Dating from the middles ages, it obviously has changed dramatically since then but a visit to Evesham still feels like a step back in time. The peaceful Medieval market town hugs the banks of the River Avon as it makes its way from Stratford on Avon to Tewkesbury.

It is a less-touristy place to make your base as you explore the Cotswolds.

What Sets Us Apart?

Experience. While many agents have experience in booking travel, and doing all the administrative aspects of the work….what most do not have is actual experience in the regions they are claiming to be experts.

I lived and worked in The Netherlands for over 10 years. I traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United Kingdom. I took full advantage of my 6 weeks of paid vacation, and all the travel I did work work within the EU and Asia. So I have visited places most never go. I found festivals, events, hotels, restaurants that have never seen many tourists before. And connecting with the people was the best part of each trip.

I can assist you in doing the same. Europe has so much to offer, and most of it is outside the heavily traveled tourists spots. By all means, visit those places, but enjoy the quaint, small villages that somehow missed the modern tourism boat.
